"Greater things are yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this city."

One of the Center of Hope's ministries is to give out bikes to people to who need them.

The Bike-for-Work program; gave out 430 bikes in yr. 2008 --- all at no cost; This year they are selling bikes for $10 for excellent working bikes, $5 for good bikes, and FREE for the rest of the bikes. About 60% go to people on parole. I like the thought of charging a little for a bike rather than a free handout. Hopefully, it will increase the level of responsibility on those who receive and also help the Center of Hope be able to continue this program.

The Center of Hope appreciates receiving bike donations so they have enough to meet the many requests. They love receiving working-condition bikes rather than ones needing major repair. However, if a bike has a flat tire or something simple like that, they can find volunteers, or themselves, to fix them.

They are totally revamping their website but they have a very cool video on there homepage. Please watch it, I am pretty sure it will give you a warm and fuzzy feeling watching it on this Easter day. Center of Hope homepage.

Last thursday I spoke to students at Southeast Technical Institute. When I walked into the classroom I saw a wall filled with design concepts for yes, The Center of Hope. How cool is that?

I will be writing more about this in the future as there will be people working more with the Center of Hope. As the song goes in the video, "Greater thing are yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this city."

Happy Easter, and of course...Peace and Bike Love!
